About Roast This
Roast This: crypto edition, powered by Rugged.
Roast This is a satirical sniff test, and Rugged is its crypto engine. You paste a token, a website, a contract or a person, we read what public sources say, and it prints a Certificate of Rug Potential. It is a joke about patterns, not a verdict about anyone.
How the score works
We read free public sources about what you paste: DexScreener, GoPlus, RugCheck, CoinGecko, the domain record, the site itself and public X profiles. A small local classifier reads the text. Each red flag adds points in one of seven categories; the total is capped at 50 and mapped to a tier. Anything we could not reach is listed on the verdict. No accounts and no database: results sit in memory for ten minutes so a re-scan is fast, and the link is the whole result. The 12 question quiz still lives at /quiz.
- Tokenomics. Liquidity, taxes, mint rights, yield and supply games.
- Team. Who is behind it and whether they have ever shipped anything.
- Tech. Contract verification, audits, pause switches, the website.
- Social. How you found it and who is doing the shouting.
- Legal. Entities, jurisdictions, terms and regulator attention.
- History. Renames, forks, roadmaps that end at the word Moon.
- Name. The pasted string itself: suspicious TLDs, hype words, emoji.
Why rugs are on our mind
Per DappRadar (April 2025, via Cointelegraph), rug pull incidents fell about 66 percent year on year in early 2025 (21 down to 7), yet losses still reached nearly $6 billion, about 92 percent of it from a single collapse; memecoins became the main rug category. A 2026 Solana preprint (via DeepStrike) found roughly 76,000 of about 100,000 tokens launched on three Solana DEXes in early 2025 looked like candidate rugs, with at least $151 million in directly traceable losses. Our checklist is distilled from Sharpe's rug guide, the DEXTools 2026 checklist and Trust Wallet's academy.
